Dr. Tester has been serving children and families for 10 years. Born and raised in Texas, she received her doctorate from University of Houston's Counseling Psychology program. While a graduate student at University of Houston, her doctoral research focused on the impact of race, gender, and ethnicity on academic outcomes. During her graduate training, Dr. Tester engaged in advanced training with children at Texas Children's Hospital and Ben Taub Community Hospital. She completed her pre-doctoral internship in Clinical Child Psychology at University of New Mexico-Health Sciences with an emphasis on Early Childhood. In order to gain more advanced training in Child Psychology, Dr. Tester sought out a Post-Doctoral Fellowship at Children's Health Council, a multidisciplinary children's mental health clinic affiliated with Stanford Medical School in Palo Alto, California.
Prior to beginning private practice, Dr. Tester worked for the Community Infant Program in Boulder, Colorado. Here she gained further expertise in helping new parents navigate the joys and struggles of early parenthood. Dr. Tester currently provides psychological and developmental evaluation through the Austin Child Guidance Center.
In her spare time, Dr. Tester enjoys spending time with her family outdoors and around town exploring Austin. She enjoys staying active, keeping up on current news and social issues, and playing with her dog.
